        100 HOURS' FAST FROM 26TH TO 30TH JANUARY 2012

Dear Friends

In several cases across the country, the acquittal by the court has proved the innocence of those who were falsely implicated in terror cases. In Hyderabad, the acquitted persons have been even felicitated by the State Government.

Now, to raise awareness on this issue and to gather support for the following demands, I have decided to observe fast from January 26 to 30, 2012, (100 hours).

1.      Expeditious trial and release of innocents arrested in terror cases.

2.      Rehabilitation of all those acquitted in terror cases

3.      Punish guilty officers of police and intelligence agencies that fabricated stories and implicated innocents in bomb-blasts.

4.      Set up a broad-based permanent Commission on Violence with quasi-judicial powers

I have chosen Republic Day because India gave her constitution on this day.

I had also observed fast from December 8 to 10, 2011, against the illegal picking up of Muslim youths. And, upon our request, the National Human Rights Commission had asked Delhi Police to investigate the matter and submit a report within 4 weeks.

P.S.: The list of those, who are observing one-day fast in solidarity, is annexed
